A LESSON ON FORGIVENESS

From the team of Angels and Spirit Guides of DJ Lyons:

Jesus Christ had a wonderful response when it came to the question of how many times one should forgive. In Matthew, Chapter 18, verses 21 and 22, Simon Peter, one of Jesus’s disciples, asked, “Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?”

Jesus responded by stating, “I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”

Many people take those verses to mean that one should continually forgive from the heart the transgressions committed by another. But we will say to you, what is far more important than forgiving others is to forgive oneself. In fact, we will go further and state that, unless you wish to go against the flow of the Universe, it is your duty to forgive oneself for past, present, and future behavior that one might or might not judge to have seemingly negative effects. In other words, you owe it to yourself to forgive yourself for all. And until one can truly forgive oneself, one cannot truly forgive another.
