How do you choose the target students? The target students you
handpick could come from 1 or 2 classes. You could choose 4 to 8
eager volunteers from each grade level. Or you might want to pick
certain students you have identified as victims or bullies to help
reinforce the skills and techniques of becoming bully free.

After lunch from 1:00 to 2:00 (or some other 1-hour block) of your
selection:
the 39 to 49 target students you handpicked will perform a
50-minute seven-act play called “No Bullies In The Kingdom” for the
entire school. Debbie will act as narrator and director, guiding the
students through the entire process.

Please note: If your school is so large that the entire school will NOT
fit in the gym, then only have grades 2-6 or grades 3-6 attend the

The Bully Free program teaches the following concepts:

VICTIMS:

* Stand up straight, make eye contact, smile calmly, and remember
to breathe.
* Deep breathing sends oxygen to your brain. Suddenly, you'll know
what to say.
* Use "I Messages."
* Try to smile since your tears often gives a bully a false sense of
power.
* Try to be a friend to a bully. "Have you had a bad day? Would you
like to talk about it?"

WITNESSES:

* Politely but firmly tell bullies that being a bully is NOT okay.
* Withdraw your friendship from a bully if he or she insists on
bullying your friends or acquaintances.

BULLIES:

* Bullies often are victims of bullying.
* The real way to feel important is by helping others and by
practicing your talents and skills - not by bullying.
What if I told you this could happen all in one day?

What if you could handpick 24 to 48 target students to become mentors and master
teachers for their peers?

What if you had a ready-made assembly that could be presented to students, staff,
parents, and press?

What if you knew that this ready-made assembly came complete with a two-hour
audition and practice workshop, costumes for each actor, props, sound system, and
Debbie acting as narrator and director for the  50-minute age-appropriate assembly
for your elementary school students?

What if you knew that your school would also be treated to an all-school assembly at
the beginning of the day where Debbie performs 2 to 3 stories solo that further
reinforce ways to deal with bullies?

What if you knew that this program was administered by a woman who wears many
hats?
